Drigo, a self-taught Chicano artist based in North Texas, has carved out a dynamic career blending ancient Mexican mythology, skate culture, spirituality, and modern design. Known for his vivid murals, immersive installations, and gallery pieces, Drigo’s work reflects a universe of imagined gods, nocturnal creatures, and rituals, all rendered in a bold, graphic style.
His journey into art began as a teenager customizing skateboards, a hobby that sparked his creative passion. After studying graphic design at Collin College, Drigo transitioned to painting, launching his career with murals created for local businesses. Today, his iconic works grace venues like The Hill Shopping Center, Sweet Tooth Hotel, and 4DWN Skatepark. His art has also caught the attention of global brands like Topo Chico, Pacifico Beer, and Louis Vuitton, where he combines his cultural heritage with modern aesthetics.
Drigo’s artistic identity is deeply rooted in resilience, inspired by personal experiences and the Peruvian apple cactus, a symbol of healing through adversity. His recent gallery debut, Flowers in the Dark, showcased his Aztec-meets-futurism aesthetic, signaling a new chapter in his career. With murals for Meow Wolf Grapevine and collaborations with global brands on the horizon, Drigo continues to shape North Texas with his visionary artistry.
