James Goldcrown, a self-taught artist from West London, has carved out a global reputation for his iconic Bleeding Hearts/Lovewall murals. His creative journey began early; a natural talent for art set him apart even as a child. By 16, James was working in a darkroom, gaining hands-on experience that opened the door to the creative industries. He briefly attended Central Saint Martins but opted to pursue his artistic vision independently.
Relocating to New York in 2007 proved transformative. After experimenting with mixed media, James began merging his photographic background with his roots in street art. His Bleeding Hearts design, born serendipitously from testing spray cans, struck a chord. First featured on a studio door, the motif quickly grew into a viral sensation, propelling James to prominence in both the art and commercial worlds.
Since his breakout debut at Art Basel, where his work sold out within hours, James has collaborated with esteemed brands such as Toms, Rag & Bone, and Sephora. His murals have become cultural landmarks, attracting admirers from around the globe. Now based in Los Angeles, James continues to balance bold creative risks with meaningful collaborations, crafting art that connects deeply with audiences and brands alike.
